Responsibilities
Develop, productionize, and operate resilient and scalable distributed systems
Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Trust Screenings services and drive their implementation
Advocate and participate in efforts to advance Airbnb’s engineering processes and technical foundations

Required
Java is the core technology needed
Definitely focused on Backend engineering
5+ years of experience with service-oriented architectures and developing large-scale distributed systems
Passion for delivering products end-to-end, from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing
Experience leading project teams and setting technical direction collaborating with product and other functional teams
Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java/Scala/Ruby etc)
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
Preferred
Scala and Kafka
Experience with the Trust and Risk domain is a plus
