Responsibilities

Plan and execute strategic initiatives to engage members and prospective members, working closely with the Director to set membership growth goals.
Serve as the primary staff liaison for volunteer leadership groups, including the Assembly of Student Delegates Steering Committee (ASDSC), supporting meetings, events, and initiatives virtually and in-person at AOTA INSPIRE.
Build and sustain relationships with program directors and Students Occupational Therapy Associations (SOTAs) at higher education institutions across the country.
Monitor and analyze engagement metrics, collaborating with various departments to foster engagement across diverse audiences.
Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop targeted communication strategies aimed at members, prospective members, and prospective OT and OTA students.
Work with the Director to identify key membership growth segments, develop key performance indicators, and execute operational plans to meet or exceed these targets.
Embrace and promote AOTA’s cultural values in all interactions with peers, volunteers, members, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrate accountability for all assigned duties, ensuring excellence, integrity, and respect in communications with staff, volunteers, and members.
Actively foster an equitable and inclusive workplace, collaborating with peers and leadership to promote diversity in all aspects of the role.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, educators, and volunteers.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience delivering presentations and engaging diverse audiences.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
Ability to analyze membership data, engagement metrics, and trends to drive decision-making and refine engagement strategies.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build consensus among stakeholders.
A strong sense of empathy and understanding of member needs, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse communities.
Demonstrates creativity and innovative thinking in developing member engagement strategies.
Candidates for this position will be required to undergo a background check as AOTA is subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI).

Preferred

3 or more years of experience in engagement programs, associations, fundraising, or member engagement is preferred.
Experience working with volunteer leadership, managing cross-functional teams, or organizing large-scale events is a plus.
Familiarity with membership management systems, CRM software, or reporting software is a plus.
