Responsibilities

Work in teams that would include members from various parts of the organization and various departments.

Focus and priority on legal, compliance, risk management functions, and teams.

Primary responsibility in employment related matters which may include EOC compliance, EEOC matters, workplace claims, and other related employment litigation and support.

Assist and provide support on a variety of CPLC cross-functional matters including work on entity management, litigation, transactions, and a variety of other matters arising from programs across the CPLC umbrella.

Required

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited university

State bar membership with license in good standing

Three (3) years of professional legal experience in a firm or in-house environment required

Strong competency in employment law and one or more of the following areas of law: commercial litigation, commercial real estate, finance, or health care regulation

Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates

Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally

Ability to translate legal complexities into terms readily understood by all personnel levels of the organization

Strong client management and project management skills across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work successfully both independently and within a matrixed team

Sound judgment, commitment to compliance and confidentiality, superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail

Must possess a high ethical standard, integrity, a strong professional work ethic, loyalty, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment

This position requires regular communication orally and in writing with internal and external legal staff in face-to-face and video one-on-one settings, group settings, by telephone and by e-mail or regular correspondence
