Responsibilities
Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to define great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation.
Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity including high-level wireframes, conceptual designs, design presentations and detailed specifications.
Collaborate closely with one or more local or remote Agile Scrum teams, working iteratively to deliver customer value.
Provide designs that meet all required accessibility requirements for both government and commercial systems.
Use customer insights that come from analytics and customer interactions to help inform business and design decisions.
Help to facilitate and participate in user research like interviews and usability testing to validate designs and make iterative improvements.
Participate in and lead design-thinking exercises to break through organizational silos and collaboratively solve complex design challenges.
Proactively identify challenges and recommend solutions to enhance overall user engagement and satisfaction.
Produce sketches, workflow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, design.
Lead product demos to clients and key stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience utilizing a variety of human-centered design methods and best practices.
Experience leading user research - interviews, ethnography, user testing, etc.

Required
5+ years’ experience as a Product Designer or UX designer with demonstrated experience working with product management teams and technical stakeholders to articulate front-end functional requirements.
Quality portfolio of recent work 'Please include your portfolio with your application. Your portfolio should show examples of the user-centered design process, design thinking, as well as your final design solutions.'
BA/BS or graduate degree in HCI, interaction design, or equivalent experience
Familiarity and experience with standard design, prototyping and user research tools, such as Figma, Miro, Adobe CS, Adobe Creative Cloud – [Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.] as well as google analytics.
Expert knowledge and experience with visual designer tools and skills (we currently use Sketch, Figma & AdobeXT)
Experience with agile software design methods
Experience supporting a complex ecosystem with multiple products.
Comfortable working on a distributed team and collaborating remotely.
Experience concepting and designing digital interactive for web.
Experience across varying products and platforms, mobile apps
Expertise in typography, composition, color, layout, design thinking, and content strategy in the design solutions you create.
Preferred
Understanding of UI/UX and website design, web movement, functionality, and conversion preferable
Video editing knowledge is a plus.
Knowledge of Print/Web art requirements
Experience with Content Management Systems a plus
