Responsibilities

Process end-to-end payroll on a bi-weekly basis including Workday /ADP tax interfaces, overtime and retro pay calculations, batch verifications, gross-to-net checks, bank interfaces and 3rd party benefit updates
Process ad hoc bonus, annual merit, and periodic payroll payments as needed
Manage and audit transactions so that systems and processes correctly compute and record time, earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, garnishments and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability
Establish communications between payroll system, tax agencies and internal departments to work with and balance payroll taxes
Responsible to find tax solutions to complicated issues or fixing errors from incorrect tax filings, able to handle monthly tax reconciliations, quarterly tax filings, annual tax filings and assisting in year-end tax forms in Workday
With the HCM team, develop, maintain, update and communicate organization-wide payroll policies and processes regarding earnings, deductions, time keeping as well as government compliance reporting
Participate in internal audits ensuring that our processes are compliant
Works hand in hand with People Technology and People Experience teams on projects including changes in configuration to earnings, deductions, benefits, including testing and deployment

Required

5-7 years of multi-state payroll processing experience
High proficiency in preparing and filing periodic payroll tax and making corrections as needed
Monitoring, updating and maintaining all state SUI tax rates, making sure they are received from the states and updated into systems
Able to reconcile payroll taxes at the employer and employee level by reviewing payroll tax reports
Manage leave of absence payments
Able to manage federal, state, and local year‐end activities and year-end tax forms, W-2C balancing and processing as needed
Support day-to-day transactions and annual events such as ad hoc check requests, annual open enrollment, annual merit, profit sharing, and other compensation events
Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.
Advanced computer skills required; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of Excel, (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, macros) with a basic understanding of XML.
Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity; ability to exercise appropriate judgment.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management, or other relevant subject area, or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Preferred

Workday Payroll and ADP Smart Compliance experience preferred
Currently holds or willingness to pursue certifications in PAY or HR disciplines (e.g. APA/PHR/SPHR)
