Business Development - Settlement Administration

Responsibilities
Class Action Expertise: Engage with attorneys and legal teams on settlement administration, understanding the nuances of class action settlements and how distributions are handled after settlement.
Client Acquisition & Networking: Leverage existing contacts in the legal industry, particularly in the class action space, to generate new business opportunities. Build strong relationships with legal professionals, including wining and dining clients to foster partnerships.
Legal Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys to consult on notice plans, settlement distribution processes, and other critical aspects of claims administration.
Business Development: Develop and execute business development strategies, generate leads, and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on growing the company’s presence in the class action sector.
Marketing & Thought Leadership: Collaborate with the marketing team to create thought leadership materials, proposals, and responses to RFPs.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for proposals and contracts, ensuring alignment with client needs.
Record Maintenance: Maintain detailed records and reports for ongoing projects, tracking business development activities and client engagements.

Required
Must have experience as a class action attorney, with at least 7 years of practice, ideally on the plaintiff side.
Ideal candidate is a former lawyer looking to transition away from practicing law.
A robust network of legal contacts, particularly within the class action field, is essential.
Proven ability to engage and build relationships with legal teams, attorneys, and decision-makers, with strong communication skills.
Experience in growing client portfolios through networking, relationship-building, and business strategy execution.
Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
