Responsibilities
Oversee geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish.
Manage project activities, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery of milestones.
Direct geotechnical investigations, including soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and field exploration.
Analyze data and provide expert recommendations on foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement.
Create and review geotechnical design calculations and reports.
Offer expert advice on foundation design, retaining walls, earthworks, and other geotechnical aspects.
Act as the main contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns while building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Mentor and manage junior engineers and geotechnical staff.
Promote a collaborative and productive work environment.
Ensure all work adheres to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Conduct quality reviews of engineering work and documentation.
Tackle complex geotechnical issues with innovative solutions and methodologies.
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Achieve department fee and profit objectives.
Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules, coordinating staff assignments.
Engage in business development activities.
Collaborate with clients to define work programs and budgets, oversee project execution, and ensure effective project coordination.
Mentor junior engineers and manage project budgets effectively.
Interface with clients and deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Conduct engineering investigations, perform routine calculations, and evaluate alternative solutions.
Prepare materials for reports and permit applications, including data analysis and report writing.
Perform field observations and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintain a productivity rate of 85% and seek out additional work as needed.

Required
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
12-15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite products and engineering software.
Demonstrated experience with a variety of projects, both large and small.
Personal car and/or reliable transit arrangements.
Preferred
Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., for slope stability, settlement, deep foundations, finite element modeling)
Experience with Department of Transportation projects
