Responsibilities

Help develop, document, communicate, and enforce a network technology policy.
Be responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including the server network, devices, and firewalls.
Be responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization.
Plan for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.
Manage user accounts and assets and assign and update security permissions on the network according to security policy.
Provide support with escalated help desk requests.
Have experience with RHEL, Windows & other open-source technologies.
Perform typical system administrative activities.
Review systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.
Identify root cause and documenting troubleshooting steps to resolution.
Support active directory/LDAP, certificate services, network communications, and group policy and security compliance.
Provide Tier III support (problem/incident management).
Work independently and in team settings to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.

Required

High School diploma and 5 years of experience.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government agency level clearance (the DHS EOD, which you must have prior to starting).
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Hands-on IT experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on AWS cloud engineering, system administration, and network configuration in a secure or federal environment.
Knowledge of AWS infrastructure, Ansible including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM, with experience in designing and managing secure, scalable environments.
Proven experience with both RHEL and Windows environments, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and securing system operations.
Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity requirements (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP), along with experience in managing access controls, permissions, and user accounts according to strict security policies.
Willingness to provide on-call support for critical infrastructure (approximately 4-6 times per year) and flexibility to handle escalated Tier 3 support tasks.

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Related STEM field.
Cloud Systems Administration experience; AWS certifications a PLUS
Expert knowledge of RHEL, Windows, & other open-source technologies.
Knowledge of OpenShift (OCP4), Splunk, Ansible Automation Platform, Jenkins, JFrog, and similar toolsets
