Responsibilities
AWS System Engineering
Deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems on AWS
Utilizing the AWS features for provisioning, monitoring, scaling and distribution of resources.
Setting up Private Cloud resources subnets, network access control lists, and security groups.
Evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications on AWS.
Stay current on latest AWS technology.
Ensuring system viability and ongoing reliability
Incorporating new development projects into existing AWS structures
Migrating of an existing on-premises application to AWS
Implementing and controlling the flow of data to and from AWS
Identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices
Selecting the appropriate AWS service based on compute, data, or security requirements
Configure software builds, provisioning and automate deployments to AWS environments.
Supporting the Environment
Create and maintain tools and scripts to deploy and configure applications.
Continually evaluate tools and technologies to improve the overall release process and effective cost management
Maintain Linux environments including OS updates, software deployment, script creation, and backups
Assist staff in the maintenance and administration of build/release of systems
Maintain hosted zones in AWS route 53 and web site re-directs
Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote Organizational initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in performing system administration and engineering duties using AWS, Linux (Red hat), and WINTEL environments
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related degree OR equivalent industry experience
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Certification (or better) Required
Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, AWS) Required
Demonstrated experience with standard AWS & off-the-shelf tools
Technical support experience and/or customer-focused experience is a must
Preferred
Azure experience desired
