Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the medical billing process, with a focus on Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Mental Health treatment settings.
Submit and follow up on insurance claims, ensuring timely reimbursements.
Handle client collections and payment negotiations empathetically and professionally.
Maintain accurate records in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, preferably KIPU.
Review and analyze payer policies to ensure compliance with in-network insurance requirements.
Prepare financial reports using Excel and other data analysis tools.
Coordinate utilization review and authorization processes to secure necessary approvals.
Negotiate contracts and payment terms with payers to optimize revenue cycles.

Required
3-5 years of experience in medical billing, specifically in behavioral health or addiction treatment facilities.
Strong knowledge of in-network insurance procedures and procedures.
Proficiency with EHR systems, preferably KIPU.
Advanced skills in Excel and other data analysis tools for financial reporting.
Expertise in utilization review, authorization processes, and payer contract negotiation.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively resolve billing issues with clients while maintaining empathy and professionalism.
