Senior Accountant & Payroll Specialist for a CPA Firm

Responsibilities
Manage and run payroll for a handful of clients bi-weekly in Gusto
Communicate with clients regarding timesheets, manage 401(k) process, Health benefits, and reimbursements.
Supervise and assist with the close of clients’ books monthly within Quickbooks and Xero
Review reconciliation and be able to analyze / fix uncleared or categorization mistakes
Tie out income in books to income from practice management systems
Post necessary Journal Entries as needed (ie depreciation, payroll adjustments, etc)
Analyze Profit & Loss & Balance Sheet for mistakes / correct monthly postings
Train and give timely feedback to Junior Accountants you’re working with on any mistakes made
Print and send financials to clients
Be able to review financials with clients and explain financial concepts
Communicate with clients via phone, email and text to develop relationships, learn their business, and get answers to open items.

Required
Great communication skills and you are able to easily explain difficult concepts to clients and internal Junior Accountants.
3+ years of accounting & payroll experience working in a CPA firm
Highly experienced using Quickbooks online & Xero
Experience with payroll software especially Gusto
You are exceptionally detail-oriented
You are tech-savvy
You are a problem solver
You are able to prioritize your own task list
You are able to make spreadsheets using various formulas & pivot tables
Preferred
Experience using Karbon, Smartvault, Bill.com & Dext is a plus
