Responsibilities
Identifying and pitching stories that will positively impact public policy;
Organizing video shoots and filming on-location interviews, events, and stories that resonate with IW Features’ mission; or coordinating third-party videography vendors to film on location;
Conducting interviews with video subjects on location;
Syncing audio, cutting footage, and organizing materials in a timely manner for editing using Premiere or other software;
Producing scripts from video interviews, often in the range of 3 - 12 minutes;
Sourcing video and audio assets that reflect IW Features’ mission, branding, and desired output, including soundtracks, news clips, archival footage, and other media;
Editing a video or overseeing a third-party editor, ensuing the end product reflects IW Features’ mission, branding, and desired output;
Assist in overseeing the editing and production of an IWF .tv series;
Assist in overseeing the editing and production of IW event video sizzles;
Collaborating across IWF communication teams to strategize on how to optimize output, increase video views, and impact.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in videography, graphic design, fine arts, or equivalent experience, or combination of education/training with relevant experience
Minimum of 3 years experience in video production, including both filming and editing
Minimum of 2 years experience in project management
Proficiency in using various types of cameras (DSLR, mirrorless, cinema cameras) and understanding their settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc.)
Knowledge of how to set up, control, and manipulate natural and artificial lighting to create visually appealing shots
Understanding of principles like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and depth of field to create visually compelling shots
Proficiency in software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, and AfterEffects
Ability to work quickly and efficiently while being receptive to feedback
Strong organization and collaboration skills
Ability to manage tasks and deadlines; prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Effective written and verbal communication
Take ownership and responsibility for assigned projects
Preferred
Experience in Canva and CapCut is a plus
Background knowledge or experience in public policy is a plus
