Responsibilities

Conducts in-depth Open Source information collection. Monitor events affecting national and international security, and develop various analytic or informational products to facilitate awareness for both internal and external stakeholders.
Researches, correlates, and disseminates timely and accurate information from multiple sources in order to support robust analysis and information sharing in real-time.
Pro-actively monitor all of the technology at our disposal in an effort to alert our members and partners of incidents pertinent to their interests or mission. Conduct secondary research and outreach.
Provide daily, targeted and actionable intelligence products in a variety of forms to members and stakeholders. Possess in-depth analytic skills and writing ability.
Possess a working knowledge of both cyber security and physical security threats to the bulk power system. Develop and maintain knowledge of current trends, threat actors, vulnerabilities and geopolitical events that could have a direct, or indirect impact on our sector and stakeholders.
Cultivate electricity sector knowledge of industry roles and responsibilities, NERCs role in monitoring and compliance, CIP standards and additional reporting and regulations regarding cyber and physical security.
Maintain a level of training and readiness regarding all incident response and exercise procedures.
Handle various administrative duties as assigned. Manage customer relationships, funnel information to appropriate internal and external stakeholders as well as triage various issues which affect members and partners.

Required

2-4 (+) years of related experience in security operations, research, and intelligence analysis or cyber/physical security related fields.
Basic understanding of cyber security or physical security is required.
Ability to multitask and prioritize a variety of request and provide results in a timely manner.
Analytical ability and proficiency in problem-solving.
Ability to adapt to dynamic, high-stress, and fast-paced work environment.
Meticulous documentation skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to convey accurate information both orally and in writing to various audiences.
Capability to build constructive working relationships with colleagues, outside organizations, and other government agencies.
Ability to travel within North America is required.

Preferred

Additional experience working in a security operations center or comparable organization that operates in a 24/7 environment preferred.
Previous work experience at an electricity utility or in grid operations is preferred, but not mandatory.
Familiar with the relationships between the electricity industry in North America and federal agencies, including the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DOD), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
