Responsibilities
Conduct landscape research about products and customers to inform strategy workshops.
With Spark team, customize strategy workshop structure; facilitate portions of workshop and synthesize outputs for strategy development.
With colleagues and clients, develop multiple strategies for positioning new and existing products and services.
Articulate underlying hypotheses for each positioning strategy concisely: what it is, how it works, why it can succeed.
With Spark team, bring positions to life through moodboards, succinct overviews, example ads and landing page copy.
Articulate each positioning strategy concisely, in presentation deck form.
Develop copy strategy—voice, tone, word choice—for each position, using target audience descriptions as a key input.
With creative team, bring each position to life as multiple ads and landing pages.
Write ad and landing page copy rooted in strategy to engage and convert target audiences.
Collaborate with Spark team to ensure consistency in messaging across websites, ads, email, social media, blogs, and landing pages that may be part of testing.
With Spark team, interpret campaign data to guide next wave of testing; iterate campaigns based on insights and quantitative analysis about the performance of each ad and landing page.
Update strategy—and copy—based on quantitative results of testing.
Synthesize testing results and craft clear, actionable go-forward strategies.
Support Spark’s own marketing efforts, including social media posting, email newsletter development, and events.

Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in copywriting and digital marketing strategy.
Creative thinker with a strategic mindset: you can write a killer ad one minute, and develop a strategy for testing hypotheses the next minute.
Ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
Self-directed, proactive team player.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms.
