Responsibilities
Review claims edits from various source systems, leveraging coding and regulatory expertise
Prepare materials for claims denials by researching coding and payer guidelines
Assign appropriate CPT/PCS and ICD10 codes for surgery reservation forms
Analyze requests from the Customer Service department related to coding disputes
Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory guidelines affecting the coding field

Required
Associate's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
Minimum of 4 years ICD-10 coding experience, preferably in a large academic medical center
At least 3 years of experience in hospital revenue accounting, billing, reimbursement, or patient accounting
Expertise in surgical/procedure coding
Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administration (RHIA) certification
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
Experience working directly with physicians and healthcare professionals
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
