Responsibilities
Performs professional accounting activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of accounting principles, practices, and techniques in accordance with GAAP, industry standards, government regulations, and current laws.
Performs general accounting and administrative functions related to local, state, and federal grants, contracts and restricted contributions in accordance with contract and regulatory compliance.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. Some combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum three years’ experience with general ledger and reporting responsibilities.
Experience with housing grants or government contracts is required.
Experience in month-end closing cycles.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information, analyze facts and data to develop effective and persuasive statements and reports.
Requires proficiency in planning and prioritizing work activities, using time efficiently and effectively, and paying close attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Preferred
Knowledge of Uniform Guidance Principles preferred.
Experience handling Single Purpose Audit a plus!
Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Internet applications. MS Access experience is preferred but not required.
Advanced proficiency in Excel with knowledge of V-Lookups, pivot tables, connecting spreadsheets, using IF formulas, and other logical statements.
