Responsibilities

Furnishing patients and healthcare providers with estimates related to upcoming treatment

Collecting estimated liabilities from patients and applying payments to patient accounts

Acquire knowledge of patient's insurance coverage and benefit limits and communicate it to the patients to make them aware of their financial responsibilities

Communicate to internal staff in a clear and concise manner the financial status of the patient by analyzing and reviewing the patient's accounts receivables and trying to resolve any issues related to it

Initiating prior authorization requests per insurance carrier requirements

Ensure reimbursement is obtained for medical services provided for non-insured and under-insurance patients

Identify and work to minimize potential financial risk of patient accounts through working daily time of service reports

Act as a resource representative when questions arise regarding registration errors, proper insurance documentation and accounting correction
