(FIX protocol & Equity) Business Analyst

Responsibilities
Adheres to established standards and maintains currency in business analysis practices, procedures and techniques.
Consults with users to identify, analyze, refine and document business requirements.
Follows up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction.
Develops and documents testing strategies for trading workflows, creates test scenarios to test/verify vendor product updates.
Develops test plans and scripts and coordinates test transmissions, as required. Tests software.
Provides training and may lead the work of others, as required.
Reviews operational procedures and methods; maps current business processes; defines and analyzes business activities; identifies best practices; and recommends improvements.
Serves as a liaison between end users and software development teams, including functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating requirements to software development teams.
Maintain currency in analyst skills.

Required
Experience with equity trading space.
Understanding of Order Management Systems, life of an equity order and trade and regulatory aspect of trading.
Technical and functional business analysis experience in Financial Services domain.
Ability to analyze and document existing workflows and validate them during migration to a new product.
Knowledge of concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering.
Knowledge of investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry.
Ability to create and interpret process maps and flowcharts.
Skill in business analysis tools: Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Software Engineering Methodology (SEM) process, Change Management, Project Management tools (MS Project), basic database query language usage, time tracking tools, advanced quality assurance (QA) tool usage for test case development, execution, and defect tracking/issue tracking.
Ability to analyze a business function and derive a set of requirements to satisfy a general request.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate timely and through proper channels to keep customer and upper management informed of the progress of an issue.
Ability to attend to detail.
Ability to meet all deadlines created by management or clearly communicate to management the reasons the deadlines are not possible.
Preferred
OTC trading experience.
Middle office functions understanding.
Familiarity with FINRA regulatory reporting.
Previous exposure to Order Management systems (for example: BRASS, Flextrade).
Knowledge of FIX Messaging protocol and ability to read and understand FIX format Messages.
Exposure to Foreign exchange transactions related to cross currency settlements for international equity trading.
Programming language knowledge is not needed.
Preferred someone local to one of the Client’s physical locations (St. Petersburg, FL 33707 / Denver, CO 80246 / Memphis, TN 38120 / Southfield, MI 48076), but open to fully remote for the right resources.
