Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Program Management Office (PMO), providing oversight and strategic direction for multiple projects and project managers across federal and civilian government initiatives.
Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that project goals, objectives, and strategies align with organizational priorities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related issues, risks, and escalations, providing timely and effective solutions.
Provide in-depth leadership and support to project managers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to execute projects successfully.
Oversee the development, implementation, and management of project plans, schedules, budgets, and scope to ensure successful project execution.
Ensure the successful integration of technical solutions across projects by utilizing deep IT technical expertise.
Regularly review and monitor the progress of all projects, conducting status meetings, identifying risks, and making necessary adjustments to keep projects on track.
Provide mentorship and training to project managers and staff to build PMO capabilities and improve project delivery.
Facilitate the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for project success, ensuring continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal regulations, policies, and standards for project management and IT.
Develop and implement best practices, standards, and tools to drive project success and improve PMO processes.
Conduct post-project reviews to assess lessons learned and recommend improvements for future initiatives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with federal and civilian clients, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure satisfaction and successful project outcomes.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing multiple projects and project managers within federal and civilian sectors
Extensive experience in overseeing IT-driven projects, with a strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to provide strategic direction across technical teams
Proven experience managing large-scale projects with diverse teams and complex deliverables
Strong background in managing project management offices (PMOs) and driving operational excellence across multiple initiatives
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive results
In-depth understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and their application in federal and civilian projects
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members
Ability to develop and implement project governance structures and ensure adherence to policies and procedures
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet) and strong knowledge of IT project management
Ability to understand the technical aspects of projects, particularly in IT systems, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and software development

Preferred

Master’s degree
PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certifications
ITIL certification or other relevant IT management certifications
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certifications
