Responsibilities
Our goal is to reach a survey response rate of 85% or greater by August 20, 2025. To achieve this, the team will work together to investigate, correct, and resend returned mailings within a week of receiving them, respond to inquiries within 24 business hours of receipt, and complete a thoroughly outlined outreach plan that begins no later than May 1, 2025.
Our goal is to reach a 100% case coding rate by August 4, 2025. In order to achieve this, the team will work together to code each case proactively not allowing the number of uncoded cases to exceed 50, attend coding office hours when necessary, and attend weekly meetings with regional team to review coding questions.
Our goal is to use the 2023 SOII data to create and publish at least 2 key visualizations on the CDPHE BLS SOII webpage and create an internal dashboard to guide the team's progress and better inform future survey year's work, by May 16, 2025. To achieve this, we will learn how to navigate and better utilize the BLS Profiles application and we will develop our data visualization skills using Google Looker Studio.
The final product will be a comprehensive toolkit with templates for communicating the value of SBHCs to various stakeholders and in various situations.
The student intern will be working closely with the survey team to help ensure a >85% survey response rate, 100% case coding rate, 2023 Occupational Injury and Illness data visualizations by May 16th 2025.

Required
Bachelors, Masters student enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking a degree program in Public Health or closely related fields.
A recent bachelors or masters graduate. Recently graduated means the individual should have attended an accredited college or university and have graduated with a bachelors or masters degree in Public Health within three calendar years (include transcripts).
College Transcripts: A legible copy of your official or unofficial college transcript(s) or a foreign credential evaluation report must be submitted with your application. Transcripts must show the name of the school and that a degree was conferred. Transcripts from colleges or universities outside of the United States must be assessed for U.S. equivalency by a NACES educational credential evaluation service.
Preferred
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well with external partners and handle occasional pushback.
Experience in data collection practices, specifically survey implementation.
Experience working with data in excel and other data organization and analysis platforms.
Knowledge regarding occupational and industrial health and wellness, as well as organizations such as OSHA and BLS.
An eagerness to learn, with the ability to achieve tasks asked of them and accept feedback when provided.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong independent work skills, with the ability to achieve tasks with minimal check-ins from supervisor.
