Responsibilities
Offer personalized academic advising to students, helping them navigate course selection, degree requirements, and career planning
Provide empathetic support and resources for students facing academic, personal, or financial challenges
Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement student success initiatives
Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with FERPA regulations
Organize and conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and informational meetings for students
Assist with the development and implementation of retention strategies
Serve as a liaison between students and various university departments to resolve issues efficiently
Stay up-to-date with academic policies, procedures, and program requirements to provide accurate information to students
Participate in campus events and activities to promote student engagement and success

Required
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
2-3 years of experience in student services or a similar role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse student populations
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Proficiency in student management systems and Microsoft Office suite
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of student development theories and best practices in academic advising
Thorough understanding of academic policies, procedures, and FERPA regulations
Empathy and compassion for students facing academic, personal, or financial challenges
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and occasional evening or weekend hours as needed
