Responsibilities
Set up, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases for high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Build and manage replication and sharding for PostgreSQL and other database platforms, including MongoDB.
Optimize indexes and queries to improve performance across multiple client environments.
Design and implement robust backup and recovery solutions.
Monitor database health, identifying and resolving issues related to query performance, replication lags, node failures, and system usage metrics.
Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and maintenance tasks with minimal downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to understand requirements and provide technical expertise for database solutions.
Provide regular database health checks and insights to stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and timely reporting.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including configuration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
Hands-on experience with other SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and MariaDB/MySQL.
Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) for efficient database management.
Familiarity with Ops Manager automation and other database management tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and experience leading database solutions in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
Ability to work effectively across multiple client projects, managing priorities and adapting to each client’s unique needs.
Preferred
Security clearance (Secret or Top Secret preferred).
