Responsibilities

Support the planning and promotion of our weekend coverage

Work with the Digital team on various curation and engagement responsibilities during the week

Be the lead homepage curator for those shifts

Ensure our stories are optimized for search

Responsible for push alerts and social posts

Selecting, curating and promoting the best content that AP has to offer - be it text, photo, video, audio or interactives

Help develop digital-first story ideas for AP reporting teams to work on

Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, such as work as an editor, reporter or social media producer at a daily or campus newspaper, broadcast station, online or digital news outlet or AP bureau

All applicants must be able to work in the U.S. or be able to gain permission to do so

Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English

Professional competency in a language besides English is a plus

Ability and willingness to work at night and on weekends

Preferred

Strong news judgment

Sharp eye for detail

Deep understanding of how to target and serve online audiences

Ability to make a good headline great

Knowledge of sports is a plus
