Responsibilities
Lead and elevate the social media presence of the UNC School of Medicine.
Create and amplify compelling written and visual content including reels and shorts while coordinating posts across multiple platforms.
Continuously analyze and enhance the performance of social media channels.
Produce engaging content for the University’s primary channels.
Help plan and execute strategic social media campaigns.
Manage the School’s online reputation by monitoring relevant news and trends.
Maintain the School’s distinctive brand voice and tone across all social platforms.
Provide ongoing reports on the performance of social media posts and projects.
Assist in SEO and other data analysis as needed.
Be available for on-call rotation among social media team members to quickly address urgent complaints or inquiries by contacting appropriate stakeholders as needed.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Demonstrated knowledge of social media channels such as Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and more.
Copywriting and editing experience for a brand.
Ability to create digital content (reels/shorts).
Experience providing detailed media data reports.
Extracting data from various social media platforms directly and analyzing for content improvement.
Interest in staying current on social media trends.
Ability and eagerness to work with others in School of Medicine Communications and across campus.
Intermediate level skill or above with Adobe Creative Suite.
Proven ability to edit basic videos, photographs, and short animations.
Preferred
Knowledge in journalism, marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, or related field.
Experience and knowledge of AP Style.
