Responsibilities
Design, Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances in an On-Premise and multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS)
Owns the strategic direction for the database topography within the solution offering
Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access
Design database backup and restore strategy
Design and build High-Availability as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases (Failover Clustering, Always On, replication and log shipping) and SAN replication
Configuring Azure/AWS Services PaaS/IaaS and migrate databases from on premise to Azure/AWS
Configure and maintain Azure SQL instances, Azure SQL Managed Instances and Azure SQL Elastic Pools, MySQL Flex, PostgreSQL Flex
Data refresh activities from production environments to non-production (development, test, QA, stage) environments and fixing orphan users
Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues
Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
Database growth vs disk space available, audits, resource monitoring (I/O bottlenecks, memory pressure, CPU use)
Monitor backups to ensure they are being performed regularly
Recover the databases to a specific point of time
Provide 24/7 on-call support on rotation basis

Required
Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience. Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of degree requirement.
Must have Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
Must have Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS experience
Must have SSIS / SSAS / SSRS experience
Experience with T-SQL and scripting
Experience with backup/restore/migration tools (BCP, DMS, DMA, bacpac)
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred
Relevant and current industry certifications such as MVP, MCP, MCSA, MCDBA or MCSE are preferred
Experience with other Database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and public cloud offerings such as RDS and Azure SQL is preferred
Experience with Firewalls and network IP, ports, TCP, UDR and CIDR
Experience with PowerShell and CLI
Experience with Linux operating systems, mysqldump, pg_dump
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for Oracle (SSMA)
Understanding of ITIL principle and process
