Responsibilities

Respond to the related questions posed by Samaritan's Purse field offices and other project department staff and proposal review.
Travel to field offices to advise on sector programs and deploy to disasters when needed.
Develop best practices and protocols for Samaritan's Purse efforts in the shelter sectors.
Proactively engage field offices concerning shelter programming before and during proposal development.
Respond to and advise in the building of emergency shelters, the deployment of tents and other shelters and shelter NFIs.
Work with and meet with Logistics and the International Disaster Response Unit (IDRU) to discuss specific disaster response requirements as it relates to shelter and shelter NFI issues.
Complete travel reports and other reports as necessary for Country offices, Regional teams, and the International Disaster Response Unit (IDRU).
All other duties as assigned.

Required

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An engineering degree is preferred. Experience with international construction management is needed.
Previous disaster response experience is needed.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.
Fluency in English (required).

Preferred

An engineering degree is preferred.
Knowledge of foreign languages (especially French and/or Spanish) is helpful.
