Responsibilities
Leads and manages significant aspects of the work and day-to-day activities of the NIH Compliance, Audit and Risk Management Team.
Assesses overall NIH compliance with Information Security plans and policies, as well as alignment with business requirements.
Evaluates the impact of new Information Security guidance on current programs and recommends changes to existing policies and processes to ensure compliance and responsiveness.
Provides expert input to the development and implementation of the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives as an authority on safeguarding systems and information.
Works as part of a team to initiate, develop, implement and evaluate various assigned security outreach and awareness programs and initiatives, including the implementation of security programs designed to address training needs and identify gaps.
Directs, manages and participates in Information Technology related security policy compliance reviews and evaluations of the NIH’s broad and complex operations, information systems and computer systems to determine the adequacy of security.

IT related experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates you possess each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving.
At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of IT tasks: managing and advising on IT security governance, risk, and compliance programs, projects, and initiatives; providing guidance and technical support to managers and program staff on IT security training and awareness programs and issues; analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of IT security training and awareness programs; monitoring compliance of IT security training and awareness programs with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; and coordinating and collaborating with other staff and organizations on IT security training and awareness programs.
