Responsibilities
Performing architectural/engineering analysis and development, as well as the design and preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.
Providing technical oversight and evaluations across all engineering disciplines as they pertain to the project.
Independently managing the development and completion of design projects, including the coordination of project staff (such as architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen, and clerks) and the review of final contract documents.
Surveying existing job conditions and collaborating with medical center personnel to define the scope, phasing, impact on medical center services, and specific design requirements.
Conducting risk assessments to determine how projects will impact the medical center, ensuring that patient care is not adversely affected.

Required
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety, etc.) and construction management of buildings and structures.
Previous experience working on healthcare projects is essential.
Familiarity with scheduling, cost estimating, and overall design integration is necessary. Professional experience should include the ability to review and resolve engineering issues related to construction and specification documents.
Proven ability to supervise and manage personnel with diverse skillsets effectively.
Preferred
Experience with VA Medical Center or VA Hospital projects.
Professional Engineering (PE) License in MD, VA, DC, or WV.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
