Responsibilities

Research and writing of op-eds and blog posts as needed
Research on U.S. policies relating to arms transfers to the Middle East, including consequences of U.S. sales in the region, and statistical research on major arms suppliers
Research on foreign governments lobbying for, or against, arms sales to the Middle East
Research on U.S. national security strategy and force posture with an eye towards crafting alternative approaches
Conduct primary research on Pentagon contractors and the economic impacts of Pentagon spending for reports and policy briefs
Investigate the influence of the military industrial complex on U.S. foreign policy​

Required

Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to work with and interpret primary documents
Basic skills in data collection, database management, and basic statistical analysis
Exemplary attention to detail and excellent writing skills (a record of published writing is preferred)
Demonstrate a keen interest in the restraint-oriented approach of the Quincy Institute and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
General administrative work for the Quincy Institute, as needed
The candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in political science, international relations, regional studies, or a related field, or be a recent graduate in aforementioned areas
Proficient in basic technical skills, including Google Suite
The candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in political science, international relations, regional studies, or a related field, or be a recent graduate in aforementioned areas

Preferred

A record of published writing is preferred
Advanced understanding of data analysis and presentation are a plus
