Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization, working closely with the board of directors to develop and execute long-term goals, objectives, and initiatives.
Promote an engaged relationship with interdisciplinary team of Board Members.
Oversee the operations of the foundation, including budget management, fundraising efforts, program design, program implementation, and administrative functions.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including veterinary professionals, veterinary organizations, donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Lead fundraising efforts by creating and executing fundraising campaigns, grant applications, and cultivating relationships with individual and corporate donors.
Oversee the development of new programs and manage existing programs and initiatives with structured, scalable processes that align with the foundation's mission.
Build and manage a dedicated team of staff members and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Ensure a strong reputation of integrity within the veterinary community. Adhere to best practices related to veterinary wellbeing.
Represent the foundation at public events, conferences, and media appearances to increase awareness and promote the organization's goals.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and ethical standards in the nonprofit sector.

Required

Preferred

Master's degree in a relevant field (business administration, nonprofit management, social work/other mental health field, etc.).
Five to ten+ years experience.
Proven leadership experience with a track record of successfully managing teams, programs, and budgets.
Strong understanding of veterinary teams and/or nonprofit operations.
Demonstrated experience in fundraising and donor relations, including grant writing and cultivating donor relationships.
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to think strategically, develop innovative solutions, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Passion for veterinary teams and a commitment to the foundation's mission.
