Responsibilities

Sell assigned products and/or promotions to assigned customers in a territory over the phone.
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products to existing accounts.
Overcome technical and business objections of existing and prospective customers
Emphasize salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for direct orders obtained.
Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Proactively identify, contact, and convert new prospects into customers by promoting the company’s products and services.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the pet supply product portfolio and stay up to date on new product launches, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
Process customer orders, follow up on shipments, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery.
Provide regular sales reports to management on key metrics, including lead conversion, revenue, and account health.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.

Required

Should have at least five years previous inside sales experience, preferably in the pet supply industry or related sectors
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated professionalism and positive team player.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Place a high emphasis on good customer care; remain calm under pressure; interact proactively and professionally with all new and existing customers.
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with the pet industry, including product lines, market dynamics, and key customer needs, a plus.
Previous experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Tableau, and online sales platforms.
