Responsibilities
Supervises the daily accounting functions including accounts payable, billing, payroll processing and accounts receivable. Maintains check requests, petty cash, cash receipt and deposit functions; oversees the preparation and maintenance of detailed records and the general ledger.
Reconciles all balance sheet accounts monthly. Prepares journal entries as needed.
Responsible for proper accounting of payroll activities. Ensures that the quarterly tax payments and annual tax filings are loaded properly and timely. Ensures the processing of 403b wire transfers deposits are done timely.
Supervises all private pay and insurance company filings and collections.
Coordinates Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting and supplies all requested data to the independent firm. Completes requested paperwork as needed by the firm.
Coordinates annual financial audit and 990 preparation. Supplies all requested data to independent auditing firm. Works with auditors to address/correct audit findings to ensure a timely and accurate report is completed and the 990 is filed timely.
Works with the CFO to ensure insurance coverage including property, auto, liability, and D&O is secured.
Works with the Marketing Department in order to prepare a financial assessment of potential residents.
Coordinates and maintains records required by State/Federal agencies/affiliates.
Handles special projects and assignments as requested.
Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
Experience with financial analysis, GAAP, computer applications, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) is required.
Organizational, analytical, time management and computer skills are essential.
Strong customer service and supervisory skills.
Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous and prompt customer service.
Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journal entries, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, vendors, or board members.
Must have the ability to handle financial information with the highest degree of confidentiality and sensitivity.
Preferred
Experience in long-term care, senior housing, healthcare, or hospitality preferred.
