Responsibilities

Lead a cross functional core team for development of one of the Consumer Solutions product sets managing development phases including definition, feasibility, design, verification, NPI and sustaining of projects to EOL

Contribute technical judgment to conceptual roadmap, validate assumptions around timing of technology delivery

Oversee product development, monitor progress and risks, take action as required to keep projects on track

Provide product development status to executive management with outlook on risks about delivery of plan of record features, cost and schedule

Support operations in cost down activities and resolution of quality/yield issues for released/shipping product (qualification of 2nd source components and new HDD platforms/capacities)

Follow up with functional teams to provide solutions to customer issues with consumer products.

Manage a team of 3 individual contributors (program managers and staff analyst).

Follow up on key account program (Apple Cupertino).

Required

Strong presentation skills

Strong conceptual and communication skills

Ability to articulate a complex proposition in a simplified and engaging way

Team player, passion to learn and communicate

Experience with Agile scrum and Waterfall methodologies

Experience with managing budgets, capital and external contracts.

Experience working across multiple disciplines, multiple sites, dealing directly with external customers and suppliers.

Experience dealing with multiple projects, managing local and remote teams and multiple deadlines.

A strong background in management of technical programs and work with cross-functional teams.

Experience in storage, compute, or network solutions companies.

Experience working in a program/project management role.

Proven ability to negotiate and influence in a matrix organization

Experience in people management (OKR setting, follow up and coaching of team members).

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering related field (i.e Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, Materials, Physics, or Information Technology) and 12+ years of experience or Master’s Degree in the same and 8+ years’ experience or PhD and 5+ years’ experience or equivalent experience and education

Preferred

2 or more years of dealing with intellectual property and patents.

Organized and self-disciplined.

Experience with hard disc drives, and have worked as an engineer in one of the disciplines used in designing hard drives would be beneficial
