Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for curriculum adoption across various state and district markets, focusing on early literacy and supplemental reading programs.
Analyze market trends, educational standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure Just Right Reader’s offerings meet adoption requirements.
Position Just Right Reader as a preferred provider of literacy resources by managing successful adoption campaigns and maintaining positive relationships with state and district decision-makers.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Adoption Specialists to effectively drive adoptions, providing ongoing training and professional development.
Implement team goals, performance metrics, and standards aligned with Just Right Reader’s growth objectives and Theory of Action.
Facilitate team collaboration, innovation, and accountability to ensure that adoption initiatives are executed on schedule and within budget.
Ensure that all curriculum products align with educational standards, state requirements, and best practices in early literacy.
Collaborate with Product Development to customize materials for specific markets and demographics, ensuring compliance with state laws, such as safe library regulations, and meeting the diverse needs of students, including demographics and learning levels.
Drive alignment of curriculum products with Just Right Reader’s mission to support joyful reading experiences and reading achievement for students and families.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Fulfillment teams to coordinate and support adoption initiatives and market entry strategies.
Support the Sr. VP of Strategic Growth in identifying new market opportunities and managing curriculum adoption efforts as the company pivots and expands its offerings.
Represent Just Right Reader at key industry conferences, state board meetings, and other relevant events to promote curriculum products and build partnerships.
Utilize data analytics to monitor adoption success, inform strategic decision-making, and assess the impact of adoption initiatives on literacy outcomes.
Regularly report on adoption metrics, market trends, and strategic insights to the Sr. VP of Strategic Growth and executive leadership.

Required
Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in curriculum adoption, educational publishing, or K-12 education
At least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing curriculum adoptions and adoption specialists
Extensive understanding of early literacy and supplemental reading programs
Knowledge of state and district adoption processes
Compliance with state-specific education laws
Proven success in managing curriculum adoption strategies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Strong leadership and team management capabilities with a track record of coaching and supporting high-performing teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders
Strategic thinking with the agility to pivot and adjust to emerging market needs and company growth objectives
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated expertise in curriculum suitability and alignment with state standards for early literacy and foundational reading
Knowledge of educational compliance and regulatory requirements related to curriculum adoptions in the K-12 space
Familiarity with data-driven approaches to curriculum effectiveness and impact assessment
Proven track record in market entry and scaling initiatives in K-12 educational markets
Deep commitment to Just Right Reader’s mission to support literacy achievement and create joyful reading experiences
