Responsibilities
Gather and input necessary insurance information into the system for accurate claim submissions
Perform insurance verification and benefit checks, as well as manage referrals and service estimates
Communicate with patients regarding services that are not covered by insurance
Enroll eligible patients in free drug and copay assistance programs and apply payments as needed
Handle pre-service collections efficiently

Required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or health plan setting
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Knowledge of referrals and authorization processes
Graduate of an LPN, Medical Secretary, Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, Paramedic, EMT, Pharmacy Tech, or similar program
No certification or licensure is required
Preferred
1 year of experience in pre-service authorizations, DME, collections, or financial counseling in a healthcare setting
