Responsibilities

Develop, test, and debug Progress 4GL applications in Windows environments.
Prepare detailed specifications and design applications to meet user needs.
Create and maintain server-side programs, stored procedures, and queries.
Troubleshoot and resolve escalations from support teams.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
Mentor junior programmers and adhere to quality standards.
Stay updated on advancements in development tools and languages.

Required

Progress 4GL/OpenEdge programming expertise, including GUI and backend development, three-tier architecture, app servers, Object-Oriented OpenEdge, and Open API.
API development with source/target OpenEdge databases.
Data analysis, data modeling, testing, and documentation.
Automating tasks using UNIX shell scripts.
Writing and managing Cursors, Transactions, and User-defined Object types in Progress 4GL.
Proficient in debugging, DML error handling, and query performance tuning.
Familiarity with server-side development for Progress Classic and OpenEdge V12 App Servers.
Minimum: 8+ years of development experience, including 5+ years in OpenEdge/Progress 4GL.
High school diploma or GED.
Proven expertise in relational database design and Oracle PL/SQL.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.
