Responsibilities

Perform analysis of public health legislation, regulations, executive directives, departmental policy issuances, as well as other statements of policy.
Identify policy needs (e.g. legislation) and coordinate the preparation of strategies and proposals in response to those needs.
Represent the organization in policy and planning discussions within the organization and with external partners.
Develop responses that are consistent with the organization and agency policies.
Develop short and long-range goals for the organization and oversee a variety of program development activities.
Develop reports and presentations and coordinate budget formulation activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required

US Citizenship is required.
Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
May be subject to a Background/Security Investigation.
One-year probationary period may be required.
Time in grade (TIG) must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position may be subject to the OGE Financial Disclosure requirements of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
Experience assisting in developing, coordinating, and implementing public health policies, planning and evaluating activities in an organization for GS-12.
Experience developing, coordinating, and implementing public health policies, planning and evaluating activities in an organization for GS-13.
