Responsibilities
Designs and implements semantic data layers and data layers that provide a unified and meaningful view of business data.
Collaborates with business stakeholders and business analysts to gather requirements and translates them into semantic layers that support reporting and analytics needs.
Collaborate with data engineering team to integrate data from multiple sources into the semantic layer.
Optimizes semantic layers for performance and scalability to handle large datasets and complex queries.
Implements performance improvements as needed.
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for all semantic layers and data processes.
Ensures compliance with data governance policies and industry best practices.
Acts as a liaison between business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT teams to ensure alignment of semantic layers with business objectives.
Conducts training sessions and workshops to educate users on the use and benefits of semantic layers.

Required
Extensive experience in data modeling, semantic layers, and business intelligence.
Proficiency in languages such as SQL, Python, MDX, and DAX.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake with Ab Initio a plus)
Strong understanding of metadata management, data governance, data architecture, and data quality principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
5+ years of experience in related field.
In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.
Preferred
Experience with Snowflake cloud platform, AWS, PowerBI, Tableau, Ab Initio and Ataccama.
Experience in a similar role within a large enterprise or complex environment.
