Responsibilities

Oversee the activities of a loan accounting team with two direct reports, ensuring accurate booking of general ledger entries, reviewing journal entries, and managing loan subledgers for all loan-related activities, while also focusing on talent development, engagement, and retention.

Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, staying current on checklists, and providing regular status updates.

Support audit requests by providing thorough documentation and explanations for loan accounting entries, collaborating with auditors to address inquiries and ensure compliance.

Ensure financial integrity within a robust control environment, supporting all accounting activities with strong documentation practices and adherence to internal controls.

Perform controls over loan accounting processes, including variance analysis and detailed discussions on business drivers to provide insights into financial performance.

Continuously improve and streamline financial reporting procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate with cross-functional business partners such as Treasury, Capital Markets, and Risk teams to support financial initiatives and ensure alignment on key accounting activities.

Required

BS in Accounting / BS in Business with major in Accounting

Minimum 4 years experience performing loan accounting functions.

Financial services industry, consumer lending or specialty finance industry experience

CPA required, public accounting experience preferred

Advanced understanding of ASC 310 Receivables, ASC 606 Revenue, ASC 810 Consolidation, ASC 835 Interest, ASC 860 Transfers and Servicing

Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, logic formulas, vlookup, sum functions)

Knowledge and experience of ERP systems.

Ambitious, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities

Strong analytical, problem solving, project management, and communication skills

Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in ambiguous situations and a fast paced, changing environment

Excellent cross group collaboration skills

Preferred

Experience in Oracle financials preferred

Passionate about the renewable energy space
