Responsibilities
Leads project teams and ensures project goals and project milestones are met.
On certain larger campaigns and/or more complex projects, performs in a leadership or ownership role, depending on the operational model.
Coordinates the life cycle of projects to include: identifying project deliverables, developing schedules, managing scope of projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality materials.
Establishes and monitors milestone dates throughout the life cycle of a project ensuring deadlines are met on time and within budget.
Ensures successful completion of projects through facilitating road map planning, tracking progress, conducting work reviews and leading retrospectives.
Tracks the team’s progress against prioritized work. Ensures project teams have all necessary information to complete projects successfully.
Identifies actual or potential conflicts with established schedules and/or scope; coordinates, communicates, and resolves such issues, facilitating resolution.
Collaborates with partners and stakeholders in crafting strategies and reviewing and approving deliverables.
Reports on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.
Manages multiple complex or larger projects at a time.
Other duties as assigned.
In coordination with appropriate USHMM program areas and senior management, plans and manages local, domestic events and programs. Initiates and coordinates advance planning for special events. Develops budgets, spending and staffing plans, event folios, reports and contract submissions. Consults and coordinates numerous event particulars with other Museum staff.
Plans, arranges and manages all logistics for assigned events including, negotiates contracts with venues and other vendors and oversees implementation and payment; recruits and trains staff and volunteers assisting at events; briefs staff hosts and other officials on program matters; and makes all necessary arrangements to ensure a successful event.
Organizes site visits and travel to potential venues to ascertain viability for an event. Attends and troubleshoots at events to see that all requirements are carried out; continually evaluates special events programs to determine that event standards are met and make revisions or improvements as needed.
Coordinates and advises sponsoring Museum department or external group, on the event creation, purpose, appearance and execution.

Required
5+ years of experience in project management and 1+ years of independently leading larger, complex projects.
Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Experience building and maintaining relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication and skills.
Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
Expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget.
Experience building, leading, motivating and managing teams, including internal and external resources.
Ability to successfully work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in Museum Studies, Project Management, Marketing, or Communications.
Professional experience in a marketing, agency, or non-profit environment is preferred.
Knowledge of the mission of the Museum and its programs and the relationships among programs is a plus.
Knowledge of Smartsheet is preferred.
