Responsibilities

Assist in managing the company’s litigation portfolio, including reviewing and organizing case files, maintaining case calendars, and tracking filing deadlines.

Prepare, draft, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery responses, and motions. Compile and organize evidence and exhibits for hearings and trials.

Conduct thorough legal research to support litigation cases, including statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other pertinent material.

Act as a liaison between the company and external legal counsel, facilitating clear communication and efficient information sharing.

Ensure compliance with legal procedures and maintain accurate records of all litigation activities, ensuring easy retrieval of information when required.

Required

Minimum of 6 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with substantial experience gained in both law firm settings and a large corporate in-house environment.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with Paralegal Certification highly preferred.

Strong understanding of litigation processes and proceedings, particularly in the transportation and shipping industry.

Proficient in using legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.

Located within a commutable distance to Pittsburgh, PA
