Accounting Associate (Bilingual - English & French) – Remote (USA)

Responsibilities
Review and process expense reports and per diem requests in accordance with travel and expense policy
Process travel advances in accordance with travel and expense policy
Process corporate credit card expense reports for travel and other expenses and assist with monthly reconciliation
Ensure completeness and comprehensiveness of monthly corporate card reporting
Process pledged and received revenue entries in accounting application
Coordinate with Development and Senior Finance Managers to ensure revenue is coded appropriately
Ensure timesheets are submitted on time and are completed with accurate entries and with appropriate approvals
Prepare timesheet allocation for monthly journal entry
Process allocations for fringe benefits and salaries, and assist in developing allocation methodologies
Maintain schedules for payroll reconciliation, accrued salary, and other accrued employment benefits
Assist with invoice processing as needed
Support Finance team with entering transactions into the accounting system accurately and on time
Review, reconcile, and assign budget codes for monthly transactions
Ensure comprehensiveness of documentation in the finance systems
Support annual audit process by coordinating the preparation of documentation
Support Accounting Manager, Payables and Expenses with annual tax filing

Required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or related roles
Experience with expense management and accounts payable processes
Advanced French language skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
Highly organized and detail oriented
Strong computer skills; intermediate ability in MS Excel, including understanding of formulas and pivot tables
Ability to work independently and as a team member; self-directed, ability to work with minimal supervision yet knowing when to ask questions
Excellent communication and customer service skills, plus discretion with sensitive information and ability to maintain confidentiality
Comfortable communicating with staff across different countries and cultures
Critical thinking skills to apply general rules, but also catch inconsistencies
Able to work during US East Coast working hours
Able and willing to convene in-person for team meetings about twice a year
Preferred
Familiarity with payroll and accounts receivable is a plus
