Responsibilities

Project Management: Take the lead driving complex commercialization projects, collaborating with cross functional teams through the product development process. This includes the creation of timelines in Smartsheet's and leading internal project team meetings to ensure they are executed on time and with precision while aligning with strategic objectives.
Product Roadmap: Assist in the creation and maintenance of a product roadmap that outlines the product's evolution over time. Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer and business value.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled at leading teams across multiple functions, promoting teamwork, and ensuring cohesive alignment among members with diverse areas of expertise.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, from peers to senior leadership.
Financial Insight: Utilize a solid understanding of business and financial principles to inform practical project decisions and optimize resource allocation to include revenue, profit and budget impacts.
Conflict Resolution: Adapt to situations with differing goals or priorities, working toward solutions that support overall project and organizational success.
Independent Leadership: Operate with minimal supervision, showing strong self-motivation and the ability to independently manage project responsibilities.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Clear understanding of manufacturing process, plant capacity and capital requirements. Understands the manufacturing differences and requirements of perishable products and can meet FDA/USDA requirements.
Customer Feedback: Collect and incorporate customer feedback to iterate on the product and make improvements based on customer needs.
Client relations: Serving as a point of contact for the client, vendor, co-manufacturers and communicates challenges to Director of Product Development.
Product Strategy (15%) Serve as a subject-matter expert on the company's products, capabilities, customers, sales channels, and competitive landscape within assigned market segments. Gain deep insights into the target audience's pain points and preferences. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success) to: Gather and analyze customer feedback, Evaluate competitor offerings and market positioning to identify opportunities for differentiation, Recommend product packaging and pricing strategies based on market analysis, Ensure a smooth and effective go-to-market process. Refine and communicate product requirements to design teams. Foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate alignment and communication.
Project Execution (85%) Lead commercialization projects to ensure timely, complete, and high-quality delivery. Plan, develop, and oversee daily execution of projects within the product pipeline. Continuously improve processes to enhance the speed and quality of commercialization projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement accurate, compelling product launch plans. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and ensuring timely execution. Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders at all levels. Quickly resolve issues as they arise, escalating effectively when necessary. Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact project timelines. Lead project meetings to review timelines, tasks, and responsibilities for each functional area. Apply project management best practices in scope, time, cost, and risk management. Complete all additional tasks as assigned or requested.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field; MBA is a plus.
Over 5 years of experience in areas like product marketing, product management, new product development or project management.
Proven track record of leading and contributing to cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinker with the ability to plan and execute strategies and make informed decisions even with limited data.
Experience managing consumer packaged goods projects throughout the product lifecycle.
Familiarity with multi-step distribution channels, national accounts, and retail or grocery distribution.
Skilled at driving large projects and change initiatives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Self-starter with a strong ability to independently develop and implement action plans within a cross-functional framework.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with management and internal/external stakeholders.
Strong understanding of Commercial's strategic priorities, with the ability to clearly communicate these priorities, rally support, and align projects and resources accordingly.
Builds credibility and establishes positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Proficient in financial analysis and understanding financial statements.
Strong analytical skills for forecasting sales and managing inventory for new products.
Meticulous attention to detail, committed to accuracy and excellence.
Proactive problem solver with a creative approach to risk-taking and proposing change.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with project management tools like Smartsheet.
Willing to travel up to 20%

Preferred

Prior experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) is advantageous.
