Responsibilities
Researches and establishes the community engagement strategy for the Office of the Director (OAD), with direct ties to TIP outreach and communications plan, in support of TIP's mission, policies, goals, and desired impacts.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with constituent groups and serves as a liaison on various committees and workgroups.
Represents the TIP/OAD's outreach programs to scientists, educators, and the public as a technical expert.
Participates in outreach opportunities, conferences, workshops, and webinars to engage with grantees, investors, professional societies, industry, and academia regarding opportunities provided by TIP.
Executes and manages the full scope of OAD's events, including contract support management, vendor management, and communications and outreach, managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders at any given time.
Leads, tracks, and manages the team's workstreams (such as merit review operations and logistics) to ensure the team meets deadlines.
Enhances understanding of technology transfer issues amongst other government entities, business and industry, academic institutions, international entities, investors and external organizations and internal audiences.
Plans, guides, conducts, and coordinates themes and messaging using NSF social media platforms and other communication tools in coordination with TIP Communications Specialist and the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA).

You must be a US citizen.

Selectee may be required to serve a 1-year trial/probationary period.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade/equivalent.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service planning, developing, and participating in a variety of outreach and communications-related activities and events to increase engagement.
Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work.
Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
