Responsibilities
Develop content for stakeholder communities (draft press releases, storymaps, blogposts, articles and emails) and identify engagement opportunities.
Create and manage media campaign content to promote an understanding of the 9 federal programs administered by the DHHS OCS [These programs include AHSSD, CED, CSBG, DDDRP, LIHEAP, LIHWAP, MLP+,RCD, and SSBG.].
Support webinar coordination, outreach, and other communications, ensuring transparency and consistency across program updates.
Provide project management support for DHHS OCS projects; demonstrate a strong ability to manage and monitor multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and successfully coordinate with others.
Be willing to perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.

Required
Bachelor's degree required.
Strong writing skills. Experience writing content, designing layout, and publishing material for a variety of communications, such as web pages, publications, and social media postings. Plain language a plus.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Advanced knowledge of English language both verbal and written required.
U.S. work authorization required.
Excellent skills in social media channels: Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn.
Copywriting: Use appealing copy and the most appropriate engagement tactics. Including using the best tone for crisis and/or disaster communications.
Storytelling: Create engaging content and conversations, and express ideas clearly.
Awareness of social media’s latest trends and tactics to reach intended audiences.
Data Analysis: Understand and act on data such as engagement, reach, and demographics.
Project Management: Be able to schedule in advance to meet hard deadlines.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Preferred
Study in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Sociology, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related fields is a plus.
Familiarity with federal assistance programs is a plus. Compassion for social issues such as ACF’s: Justice40, LIHEAP, CSBG, LIHWAP, CED, or RCD.
Familiarity with one or more social media scheduling software [Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Loomly, Later, etc.]
