Responsibilities

Inspecting and evaluating property damage caused by a number of factors such as weather, fires, floods, accidents, etc.

Assessing and documenting findings to articulate the extent of the property damage.

Generating detailed reports of findings including photographs, measurements, etc. and calculating appropriate estimates in Xactimate™.

Investigating the circumstances surrounding the loss and establishing coverage and liability by analyzing policy language.

Providing a clear explanation of settlement offers, including deductibles, coverage limitations, etc.

Engaging in negotiations with policyholders, contractors, and claimants to reach fair settlements, as necessary.

Maintaining accurate records of all communications, transactions, interactions, and documentation throughout the claims process.

Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders, claimants, agents, and others through professional, empathetic, and timely communication throughout the settlement process.

Other duties as assigned.

Required

Minimum of three years multi-line P/C insurance or construction experience; Farm/Ag experience preferred.

Experience with computerized estimating system, PC and software applications; demonstrated proficiency with Xactimate™ preferred.

Ability to physically carry and climb a ladder to gain access to roof structures that may include multiple stories, walk on roof surfaces to evaluate potential roof damage and crawl into crawlspaces under a house or mobile home(s).

Willing and able to travel, work after normal business hours and adjust schedule as may be required by circumstances.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong organizational, time management, and teamwork skills.

Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with little supervision.

Exceed customer service expectations on claims handling, including frequent communication.

Highly self-motivated, detailed, and able to work independently.

Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Must be located within assigned territory.

Preferred

Farm/Ag experience preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency with Xactimate™ preferred.
