Responsibilities

Replace existing Java/Eclipse-based user interfaces with modern, responsive Angular TypeScript frameworks.

Convert SOAP-based web service calls to RESTful service calls.

Migrate the deployment environment from WebSphere to JBoss EAP.

Participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing, and deployment of new application components.

Collaborate with other teams to achieve project goals.

Create and maintain technical and design documentation.

Perform system analysis and problem resolution as needed.

Analyze software for configuration and performance tuning opportunities.

Develop and maintain data and process models.

Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure application reliability and error-free functionality.

Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.

Participate in program design, coding, and test walk-through meetings.

Support web-based Java applications in an SOA platform, including defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support.

Troubleshoot and resolve system issues while analyzing software for defects and performance improvement opportunities.

Develop and test application code for defect resolution and performance enhancement.

Other duties as assigned.

Required

Hands-on experience in Front-End/UI development for enterprise-class applications on the JEE application development platform.

Experience participating in all phases of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle).

Development experience utilizing JEE Application Servers, including Authentication and Authorization and Caching strategies.

Programming experience with: Java, JEE, REST/SOAP web services, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Typescript, Spring, Java Server Pages, Struts, JSON, XML, JWT, Maven, OpenAPI v3, OAuth, PostgreSQL.

Experience implementing client-facing applications with responsive design.

Experience with Single Page Applications (SPAs) using the Angular TypeScript framework.

Experience implementing user interfaces with HTML5 and CSS3.

Experience implementing RESTful service security using JWT, OAuth, and related technologies.

Experience with client-facing applications using JSP and Struts.

Experience in developing self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.

Proven experience implementing best practices in application design, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Preferred

Hands-on experience with JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later.

Hands-on experience with Agile Development Methodologies (preferably Scrum).

Development experience for mobile and tablet platforms.
