Responsibilities

Support clinical operations by helping to design patient-friendly clinical trials and drive strategies for patient recruitment, retention, and understanding of trial protocols.
Assists the clinical development team in identifying partnerships with patient advocacy groups and professional associations to assist in the enrollment of clinical trials
Lead the development and execution of the patient insights strategy, ensuring that patient, and caregiver, perspectives are embedded across the entire product lifecycle.
Keep up to date with patient experience and advocacy strategies from other pharma firms and ensures the company position as one of the leading authorities of patient experience in the industry.
Collaborate closely with Program Management, R&D, clinical operations, medical affairs and regulatory teams to incorporate patient-reported outcomes, preferences, and experiences into clinical trial design, protocols, and endpoints.
Establish and lead patient advisory boards or patient focus groups to gather ongoing feedback about unmet needs, disease burden, and treatment expectations.
Design and implement methodologies to collect patient- and/or caregiver-reported information, such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups, and analyze this data to derive actionable insights.
Serve as the voice of the patient across internal teams, ensuring that patient insights inform corporate, commercial, and clinical decisions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with patient advocacy groups, healthcare providers, and thought leaders in rare respiratory diseases, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
Work with the communications and medical affairs teams to develop patient education and advocacy programs that increase awareness of rare respiratory diseases and available therapies.
Provide patient-driven insights during regulatory discussions, supporting efforts to ensure that the patient experience is well-represented in submissions to regulatory authorities.
Represent patient perspectives in key internal and external forums, including presentations to senior leadership, advisory committees, and industry conferences.
Lead the company’s VOP initiatives, ensuring that patient’s diagnostic journey, stories and disease experiences are used to inform strategic planning, marketing efforts, and disease awareness campaigns.
Provide strategic direction to develop long-term patient insights plans aligned with Avalyn's goal to bring innovative inhaled therapies to rare respiratory diseases.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, public health, psychology, sociology, marketing, business, communications, public relations, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in patient-oriented commercial roles, advocacy, patient insights, professional association relations, stakeholder engagement, or related roles in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries
Experience in patient-focused marketing & commercial roles demonstrating the ability to identify target segments and develop market insights required.
Proven experience working with ILD/IPF or rare respiratory disease is a strong plus.
Deep understanding of clinical trials, drug development, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on patient-centered drug development.
Knowledge of the US and European healthcare systems and regulatory landscape, including the needs of providers, patients, and caregivers
Ability to collaborate and lead with executive presence, positively influence performance excellence, and encourage innovation across all therapeutic areas and levels
Familiarity with patient-reported outcomes as well as economic evaluation and outcomes research that provide data and insights for healthcare decision makers.
Must have the ability and experience presenting complex information to large scientific / academic audiences as well as to the media.
Ability to manage multiple projects and identify risks in a fast-paced environment with a drive for results and sense of urgency to meet medical market needs
