Responsibilities

Lead motor fuel tax planning and controversy projects, including audits, appeals, and litigation proceedings.
Oversee the planning and management of multiple client engagements.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Stay abreast of emerging tax issues and legislation.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
CPA, EA, or licensed attorney
10+ years of experience in federal and state fuel taxes
Experience with federal and multi-state excise tax returns
Experience with a variety of industries and all aspects of federal and state fuel and excise tax laws

Preferred

Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
Extensive tax experience in both public accounting and industry
Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Demonstration of independent thinking and strong decision-making skills
Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
Strong relationship management and practice development skills
Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients
