Responsibilities
Unify and drive the strategic plan through innovative, competitive, secure, resilient technology in alignment with Ascension’s mission
Advocate for positive change and innovation to achieve Ascension’s targeted business outcomes
Organize and drive efficiency across the current state architecture and architecture organization.
Lead Enterprise Architecture focus on Emerging Trends, Innovation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Technologies
Identify, assess and recommend Innovation and Emerging Trend opportunities, including scope, cost and feasibility considerations
Maintain a proactive technology radar, look ahead three to five years from now
Partner with Executive Leadership and Architecture Domain Leaders to enable success
Provide Executive Level Consulting and Guidance to Ascension senior leadership
Provide consulting support to ensure that potential solutions being designed are platform oriented, decomposable, decoupled and fit into the broader service-oriented architecture landscape and technology ecosystem
Drive efforts to modernize technology platforms and systems
Simplify application inventory to standardize technology solutions as well as reduce the overall technology portfolio based on key performance metrics and other business drivers
Provide education and insights on Emerging Technologies, AI and Cloud Technologies to foster broad awareness and leverage within existing and future initiatives and architecture efforts
Employ architecture design best practices including mentoring other architects to advance overall skill sets, knowledge and maturity
Understand Emerging Trends in Technology and Healthcare
Seek out opportunities, assessing their potential benefits and/or impacts to the existing technology ecosystem
Identify specific Proof of Concepts and Pilots
Serve as the primary AT architectural advisor on AI
Ensure robust testing strategies are developed and employed to ensure the appropriate use of AI
Ensure capture of relevant AI system information in a central repository for broad leverage, periodic review/auditing and knowledge sharing
Partner with appropriate business and technology leadership in the formation of an enterprise Cloud-first strategy
Support Enterprise Architecture leadership in periodic updates and presentations to Ascension Technologies Executive teams
Provide architectural perspective and technology pattern recommendations for various Enterprise Architecture initiatives
Support the creation of strategic roadmaps that sequence technology initiatives based on business priorities and technical dependencies
Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for Architecture Review Board (ARB) Governance and Standards
Support ad hoc Special Projects as assigned
Possess strong architecture modeling skills
Apply critical thinking for the development of nuanced architecture views
Responsible for architecting solutions crossing multiple domains or business areas
Work closely with partners inside and outside IT and across business communities
Participate in cross-functional teams for developing and implementing new architectural patterns and standards
Lead C-level conversations with client stakeholders
Establish and ensure system architecture and best practices of solutions
Strong understanding of technology platforms and modern technologies/approaches
Exceptional communicator and presenter with excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly evaluate options, unlock enterprise challenges, make technology recommendations
Ability to communicate broad business initiatives and translate them into measurable objectives
Familiarity with working in an agile-based environment
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Comfortable working with ambiguity and gray spaces
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, prioritization and relationship management skills
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, conflict management and decision making skills
Ability to manage multiple work commitments, producing high quality work products under pressure and within deadlines

Required
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
5 years of experience required.
Possessing a deep understanding of AI technologies, serves as the primary AT architectural advisor on AI.
Strong knowledge of various cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) including networking fundamentals, data management and security practice expertise.
Able to lead C-level conversations with client stakeholders to ensure alignment of technology solutions that align with customer needs.
Establish and ensure system architecture and best practices of solutions with a strong focus on cloud platforms, AI/Gen AI, commercial systems and digital initiatives.
Strong understanding of technology platforms and modern technologies/approaches to drive technology that is innovative, competitive, secure and resilient.
Exceptional communicator and presenter with excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to quickly evaluate options, unlock enterprise challenges, make technology recommendations, and recommend solutions within a diverse technology environment.
Ability to communicate broad business initiatives and translate them into measurable objectives and concrete goals for other architects.
Familiarity with working in an agile-based environment.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Comfortable working with ambiguity and gray spaces.
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, prioritization and relationship management skills.

Preferred
Master's degree preferred.
10 years of experience preferred.
Experience at a large technology products and services organization.
Five or more years experience in an information technology discipline with increasing responsibility.
Healthcare IT experience is highly preferred, ideally encompassing a broad range of business areas, care delivery settings, including related processes, integration and solution exposure.
Product Model and Agile experience preferred (at scale).
Familiarity with The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and architecture modeling tools (e.g. Abacus, IBIS, Orbus iServer, MEGA, LeanIX, etc.)
